Nueces River Ranch is home to a herd of whitetail deer and Rio Grande turkeys. McMullen County offers one of the best natural habitats for South Texas wildlife, especially for growing big South Texas whitetail bucks and nice wing shooting for dove, ducks, and both blue and bobwhite quail. The ranch has had some introduced whitetail deer genetics over the years. Green Branch Creek is a wet-weather creek that meanders through the ranch. This ranch has good surface water with 8-9 tanks throughout and 4 water wells. One of the wells has a pump capable of producing 50 ± gpm. The Nueces River flows along the eastern part of the ranch.
